Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the houses located?

Our houses are right on the beach, in Praia da Bombaça, Barra Grande, on the Maraú Peninsula – Bahia – Brazil.
A paradise between the sea and lush nature.

There are several ways to reach the Maraú Peninsula:

  • Private flights: Barra Grande has a small airstrip (Kiaroa Aerodrome).

  • Commercial flight + car: the nearest airport is Jorge Amado (IOS) in Ilhéus, 130 km away. Car rentals are available at the airport (advance booking recommended).

  • Transfer + speedboat: from the Camamu pier, speedboats depart every hour (06:00–17:00). The trip takes about 40 minutes, and upon arrival at Barra Grande pier, taxis or open jeeps can take you to the house (10-minute ride).

  • Via Salvador: a more budget-friendly option — Salvador Airport (SSA) + ferry to Bom Despacho + bus or transfer to the Camamu pier.

For comfort and economy, a car is best.
If you prefer adventure and fun, renting an ATV (quad bike) is an excellent way to explore. Many rental options are available in town.

Don’t miss:

  • Cycling at low tide along Praia da Bombaça

  • Sunrise on Bombaça Beach

  • Sunset and beach clubs at Ponta do Mutá

  • Boat tour through the islands (Pedra Furada, Goió, Sapinho)

  • Speedboat to Tremembé Waterfall

  • Snorkeling or diving at Taipu de Fora’s natural pools (day or night)

  • Bromeliad Trail, Lighthouse, Cassange Lagoon, Blue Lagoon

  • Algodões Beach and evening strolls through Barra Grande village, with charming restaurants and shops.

Summer is the liveliest season, especially New Year’s Eve, when the town is full of events and celebrations.
For warm weather and fewer crowds, March is a great choice.
For peaceful days and pleasant temperatures, September to November are ideal months.

More attractions, cultural events and curiosities of the region:

Cajaíba: a small seaside community within the Bay of Camamu. For boat enthusiasts, this place dates back to the 17th century, during the period of French invasions in Bahia. The French established a schooner-building base here due to the abundance of wood and its strategic location, close to the capital of Brazil at the time (Salvador) and to Camamu, the second largest city of the period. The traditional boatbuilding method, with its beautiful design from that era, is still preserved by local residents. These boat designs have been passed down through generations. It is possible to see several shipyards by the sea with schooners under construction. A must-see.
